About me

I finished my diploma in multimedia engineering (Multimediatechnik) at the University of Applied Science Mittweida with the grade “Very Good” in August 2009. The topics of my study program included marketing, 3D modeling and animation with 3dsMax, design with Photoshop and (web) programming in PHP, MySQL, (X)HTML / CSS, Java, C ++ and Visual Basic.

I improved my education in software development, 3d visualization and 3D animation during my spare time. I successfully developed PC games with Delphi and won several prizes at Germany´s National Youth Competition MB21 with these new skills. I worked three years as a student assistant for 3D visualization in projects at the field of “Mobile robotics” at the TU Chemnitz where I gained my first experiences with commissions.

I attented a 6-month internship at Related Designs Software GmbH (today: Blue Byte GmbH) in Mainz in summer 2008. I worked for “Additional graphics” on the strategy game “Anno 1404”. The main subjects of my work was to make research, concepts about medivial buildings and ships and to create them as full game asset. I also learned to focus on optimizing the game assets for a fluid performence in the 3D game engine.

I’ve worked in efficient modeling and texturing of 3D architectural models with Sketchup and Google Earth between 2009 and 2012. My work and I was awarded under the nickname “MisterFoley” as “Featured GoogleEarth Modelers”. In July 2011 I was the first and only German Google Earth modeler to receive the “Google Qualified Developer for Geo 3D” certificate. I used the JS based Google Earth API to develop some mobile games that received world wide attention (see “Press”)

I worked for the company Ironshark GmbH as a PHP developer between November 2009 and April 2015. The (further) development of the proprietary webshop system (JS Prototype, MySQL and PHP) was the main task but I also setup and maintained CMS systems (Joomla, WordPress, Typo3, Powerslave). In addition to development works, I had to communicate (presentation of product status, agreement on maintenance tasks or developments) with our customers.

My next step was to work at Sixt Leasing SE as Senior Software Development Manager from May 2015 till December 2020. Most of the tasks were planning, (further) development in the backend (PHP frameworks Zend2 and Symfony as well as communication with Oracle databases) of the backoffice and company-owned sales portals. At the same time, I planned and focused on the vehicle configurator of the company. Our planing and development cycle was based on Scrum.

I started to work as a Senior Software Engineer for Conuti GmbH in January 2021. In this position I am a Consultant for PowerCloud GmbH and help a Scrum team to develop customized solution for energy provider companies or to extend and to improve the core back office software of the company. My tools are PHPStorm, Atlassian organization and documentation tools, Lucidchart and others. I extend or improve old legacy code or develop new solutions with the Symfony framework.
