Website “Antikes Rom – Fakt und kompakt”
“Antikes Rom – Fakt und kompakt” was a Webpage project with my team mates Matthias Voh, Markus Gündel, Holger Voigt und Nga Nguyen-Phuong for the achievment of the subject “Mediengestaltung” at TU Chemnitz.
The idea of the project was to model the city centre of the ancient city of Rome (specifically: Foro Romanum) with the 3D modeling and animation software Caligari trueSpace, and to allow website visitors to virtually explore the ancient Rome (with Flash and Quicktime-Player) and to get informations about the history of Rome. The searchable little encyclopedia about the important terms and the urban history of ancient Rome (implemented with PHP and MySQL-DB) introduced the visitor to the world of the heart of the former empire.
